CO2 Capture from Wine Fermentations

VALECARB : a CO2 recovery process

ALCION Environnement, a subsidiary of SEDE, has developed a process for recovering CO2 from wine fermentation: VALECARB. A network is installed on the fermentation vats allowing the CO2 from the fermentation process to be captured. The CO2 then reacts with sodium carbonate to produce sodium bicarbonate. The applications of bicarbonate include the environment, cosmetics, food industry; it can also be used as a carbon donor for the growth of spirulina.
